Meg Shuker

About me
My name is Meg Shuker, and I am an 18 year old artist from mid Wales. I have naturally gravitated towards art my whole life, so much so that I aspire to study fine art and eventually help others through art therapy.
Outside of art, I am a big hobby person, and I have many interests. I am always working on something, whether I'm crocheting myself a jumper, baking an ugly (but very tasty) cake, researching beetles, or completing some silly jigsaw puzzle.

Growing up autistic, I have always had a unique perspective on the world, and this has also translated into my artwork. I even made my entire GCSE art project on beetles, my special interest. Over the past few years, I have found that I like to create pieces that are distorted, bold and colourful. I want my work to show how "unflattering" or "silly" expressions can be beautiful in their own way, rather than reinforcing toxic beauty standards which I know hold so many people back.

I am so excited to share my work, and I hope you enjoy my portfolio!
