About this project
Through a lens is an ongoing painting project that I have been working on since my A-level studies in 2023. In this series, I explore the fisheye lens in relation to portraiture, using the warping of the lens to exaggerate facial features, expressions and silliness. Most recently, I created a small group of paintings, namely "Brushed" and "On the actual toilet", two almost uncomfortable scenes, in the bathroom, that I wouldn't particularly want viewers to see. The fisheye lens acts as an onlooker, peeking into this uncomfortability. I also created my first painted animation during this series, titled "Fun jumper"
