"Shelved" is a series of just two paintings, responding to a time where I was moving house, experiencing a difficult relationship to home and independence. "Shelved" refers to both the physicality of placing items on a shelf, and the act of pushing emotions away, "shelving" them for another day. In these pieces, I placed a miniature version of myself alongside some of my favourite sentimental objects. The first painting "Shelved" was shown in the herebedragons exhibition in my home town, where I received the 18-24 prize. The second painting, "Unpacked" was featured in a "Garlleg" exhibition as well as the Young Welsh Artists exhibition in Machynlleth.
